Mission: [MAIN] Learning to Fly
Location: Holodeck
Timeline: Current

Pifanyi sped about the corridors. She had just left the gym and worked out a bit extensively, hoping to mitigate a growing itch in her head. She hated this state and wanted nothing to do with it, but it was natural for the Hermat race. It seemed there was a trait in almost every race that the members did not like. For the Hermat, Pifanyi really did not like having to go feral; to allow the cycobaramine to take over. Some called it 'going cyco.' Pifanyi called it a grave inconvenience. She did have her hypospray filled with baramorzone that would subdue the growing levels of cycobaramine in her system, but the last thing she wanted was to depend on and perhaps become addicted to the drug.

With little other options left to her, Pifanyi went to the holodeck.

She was in her Starfleet issued PT uniform and had another clean set in her gym bag in preparation for the inevitable.

All the holodecks were either taken or already reserved. She needed a block of an hour and one vacant holodeck was only 50 minutes away from being occupied for a "Starry Night Dinner Date?" she read on the display.

"Computer," there came a bleep, "override holodeck scheduling for this holodeck and grant access. Authorization, Lieutenant Pifanyi Itzyana Lima Seven Zero Echo Tango Charlie. Initiate HEC Protocol."

It took a short moment but the computer bleeped again and the holodeck doors opened. Pifanyi was quick to enter and knew full well that only a command override would open those doors again once they were closed. Pifanyi was going to be locked inside the holodeck for the hour. Not even her authorization code would let her out inside and hour. But that was for the good and safety of everyone else.

"Load Andorian Battle Arena," she said as the dropped her gym bag by a materializing stone column.

That itch in her head was growing. It was not an itch she could scratch by any means other than letting go of herself.

Seven Andorian warriors materialized spread about the arena. Each wielded various Andorian weapons.

"Computer. Active and continued medical scan of cycobaramine levels. Once the HB co-efficient is passed critical levels, activate all Andorian warriors. For now, only activate one. Proceed."

One of the Andorian warriors sprung to life and was already moving toward her as though being unfrozen from a full sprint. He arrived upon her and swung his weapon. Pifanyi dodged and punched at him, spun and gave him a sweep of the leg. He avoided and fell back a few feet before attacking again. His weapon struck true and the blade of his ustoon-kor dematerialized as it sliced through her arm and rematerialized after. She was left with no injury at all. The Andorian made no reaction and no comment. He was, afterall, just a hologram.

The itching in her head was still there and she felt no overpowering levels of cycobaramine.

"Pause program," she said irritatingly. "Computer remove all weapons." All the weapons disappeared. "Remove safety protocol. Continue program."

The now disarmed Andorian came at her again with an array of punches. A few landed. A few did not. She returned the strikes with punches of her own and a few kicks.

Pifanyi slapped at him with an open palmed strike and he fell back a few feet. Pifanyi saw that her claws had not yet extended from either her hands or her feet. She had, earlier, made sure she was not wearing shoes for that reason alone.

"Pause program!" Pifanyi was barely winded and the itch was still there in her hindbrain. "Computer raise aggression level to 5 and give the Andorians speech." She readied herself and forced her claws from her fingers and toes and baring her teeth as she struck an offensive pose. "Proceed," she growled.

The Andorian came at her again. "Make peace with whatever deity you cower before," he said. Again they exchanged blows, blocked, dodged, taunted, insulted. There was still no explosion of cycobaramine in Pifanyi's hindbrain and, as the Andorian started reaching for her neck with both of his hands, she dropped her defenses and let it happen.

The Andorian warrior gripped her by the neck and lifted her off her feet. He squeezed hard attempting the squeeze the life from her. "This day is your last Pif," he said.

Though Pifanyi's eyes were becoming bloodshot from being choked so viciously, her pupils dilated. She flexed her fingers and those claws felt hot and stiff. That itch in her hindbrain popped and she felt a very relieving sensation wash over her. Suddenly, Pifanyi felt...good...and felt as though she could tear the world apart. She gritted her teeth and sunk her claws into the Andorian's face, fully intending to flail his face in all directions.

With a loud scream, he dropped her. Pifanyi landed on all fours and swiped at his torso, opening his gut and sending unspeakable bits of matter sprinkling off to the side. All the other Andorian's sprung to life. Pifanyi turned toward one, it did not matter which one, and she hissed.

Pifanyi's next memory was opening her gym bag and retrieving her clean and intact PT uniform. What she wore, or mostly did not wear, was in tatters and barely hanging on. As in most cases when undergoing HEC, she would lose her clothing in all the violence either through the combat or tearing her clothes off herself. Pifanyi long ago decided to not dwell on that would drive her to tear her own clothes off during a fight, but she also decided that its was simply inhibiting. She needed full range of motion.

Pifanyi donned her clean PT uniform and placed the bloodied and tattered uniform in her gym bag. She also sported a few scrapes and bruises in addition to Andorian blood stains in her hair and on her body. In her hair was also a few other bits of Andorian anatomy other than blood.

The hour had elapsed and she approached the archway and the doors slid open. Before her stood the pair who had reserved the holodeck earlier. It was a Starfleet crewman and his lady friend arriving for their Starry Night Dinner Date. They both appeared horrified by the scene in the holodeck.

Pifanyi looked behind her and saw the same. With a shrug, "Computer, End program," and the Andorian battle arena, littered with Andorian bodies and bits of bodies all faded away leaving behind a blank holodeck. Even the bloody bits on her skin and in her hair went away as well as what stained her tattered uniform in her bag.

"It's all yours," she said as she passed by the pair still paralyze by what they saw. Pifanyi just strolled by and ventured away back toward her quarters.
