{Report- Summary Findings for Lieutenant Anslo Jaron Tol, 449877BG}
Subject of Inquiry: Anslo Jaron Tol
Reason for Inquiry: Interrogation of a Starfleet officer accused of crimes.
Level of Inquiry: Maximum -AUTHENTICATED
Incident Summary:
As alleged by defendant: Anslo Jaron was compelled into joining when Ambassador Talbic Grentkit elected to end his life rather than execute a devastating battle plan during the Dominion War. Starfleet’s response was to perform an illegal forced joining, overriding Anslo's explicit refusal, ensuring the Tol symbiote's survival.
-Addendum: Context is required for Anslo's sudden change in behavior to be properly conveyed by request of Admiral El-Anha at Starfleet Medical. The Office has also requested a chronological approach as well, as is outlined in the report to follow.

{Start Report}
Anslo Jaron is a joined trill, 42 years of age, joined at the age of 23 to the Tol Symbiote. The Tol symbiote contains the life experiences of many Federation icons, including a brilliant tactician and scientist, pivotal to the war effort. It’s long history as a servant to the federation and near religious levels of insight and wisdom was its towering claim. The joining’s aftermath left Anslo in deteriorating health, reliant on lifelong medical intervention. Reports suggest a growing autonomy between Anslo and Tol, complicating traditional host-symbiote dynamics. Anslo's reticence towards Starfleet stems from the trauma of enforced symbiosis and the operational secrecy he was coerced into maintaining.
Tol began with their first host:
Bakkan Herr- Old in the time of Kirk, Bakkan was among the first Trill to oversee the membership initiative to join. The Tol symbiote emerged from Mak'la and for his service Bakkan was chosen as well as being a near perfect match. Bakkan is an author and signer of the original Trill Federation incorporation. He was an adherent to the path of T’rill before joining. The Battle of the Binary stars was in his eyes the inciting need for Trill to stand with the Federation, he made the case for the Trill governance and the signing was official to become allies, which would lead to their joining as members after the war. In the final desperate days of the war, Bakkan was killed by desperate people in need who accidentally damaged critical systems trying to board a ship evacuating them.
Kwnby Luth- Served in Starfleet, fought in the Klingon Federation war. Among several key officers overseeing logistics and supply lines for the war effort. She was renowned for supply line genius and logistical brilliance. Was on board a Starbase at Cygnus Alpha aiding their evacuation when Bakkan was killed by a Klingon marauder. She was joined in an emergency surgery during Klingon boarding action and experienced terror from being helpless during firsthand combat. Bakkans death and her emergency joining made her queasy from the brutality of the Klingons and she became afraid of them. Retired into fame as a novelist publishing biographical works of great Trill people, and occasionally loaned herself to solving problems as part of a renowned think-tank.
Sbodn Macha- Author and Chef, renowned world traveler. When Kwnby passed in her sleep surrounded by loving family, her transition was the opposite of her joining. Sbodn received all of the wondrous talent of Kwnby and a new flair for fiction. Her book “Wayfarer” inspired billions of people to leave their homeworlds and see the stars. “Wayfarer” is a staple book read to children before their first space voyage across two quadrants. Had only one child, who was murdered by an obsessed fan who stalked Sbodn for years. Sbodn never left the Trill homeworld afterwards, falling into religious practice, found much solace rewalking previous lives in the path of T’rill.
Ozvin Loza- Mother of three children, who were all Starfleet captains, their children nearly all joined Starfleet, and to this day, the Loza family is the largest single family serving from Trill, with over a thousand descendants spread across fifteen hundred light years. Quotes from “Mama” have defined and shaped Federation and Starfleet policies. Her openly religious faith in a higher power has served to inspire many to the present day. She didnt follow Ozvin into the monastery but became deeply sagacious, and wrote a book, "A Tome for the Pauper" which i listed among Trill's greatest cultural treasures.
Talbic Grentkit- A follower of Trill religious practices, Talbic was a genius level intellect who was very tortured and uncertain. Tol brought peace to Talbic who took a subservient stance, and Tol developed a curious autonomy of thought as a result. Talbic went on to accomplish every impossible task set before him before taking his own life when he couldnt make a decision and the long result was it was made for him. Betazed was invaded due to his "failure." Anslo claims to have been forced into the joining, that his assignment away from black ops was as a backup for Talbic. This practice does hold true, any Joined Trill must have another Trill or compatible life form to carry the Symbiote should the host be mortally wounded. Anslo was assigned to Talbic's retinue for precisely this reason.
Begin Account- Anslo Jaron
Anslo Jaron lived a life in Starfleet as a security specialist. He was known beforehand as a remarkably intelligent even keeled young man who was born to be a police officer. The Dominion war saw his service turn to war and he became a forward infantry operator, then a highly respected black ops agent. He was reassigned to guard Talbic Tol a Trill ambassador to the war effort on a tour of duty against his will. Starfleet mandated a Trill be on mission at all times, but they assured Anslo the risk was minimal.
Talbic took his life after refusing to submit a battle plan. The plan would have laid to waste Cardassian sectors and crippled the Dominion war effort. Admiral Dracaj, the Starfleet adjutant of the Trill diplomatic delegation allegedly ordered Anslo to undergo joining illegally. Anslo said no, that was covered up in the after action report and the medical staff was not told. He was anesthetized without consultation under auspices of an examination for fitness. He was adamant against being joined by all witness accounts. The Tol symbiote had been outside a host for almost a whole day, and the decision was made as Tol was going to die without implantation.
Statement from Anslo made to Commander Heriah Rex: "The loss of life he (Talbic) witnessed firsthand of one of the gentlest peoples of the Federation broke him. I was the Trill in his retinue that took on the burden. I was told within three days it could be reversed, and indeed it can, but I got too sick rejecting Tol and they opted to remove him, without concern for me. I heard them on the table, and Tol heard them. Tol convinced me they were working to save the symbiont, not me. I protested, and Admircal Dracaj told me they were working to save us both. He ordered me with the full weight of court martial to lay down."
Re-implantation was ruled against, and for lack of a better term, they forced Anslo to accept the Symbiote by erasing his immune system. To this day he requires medicines and uses advanced medical practices to keep himself healthy. Weakened as they both were, Anslo wanted to return to the lines but was forbidden, forced to live the life of a monk, and in his estimation also as a slave to Tol. The joining wasn’t perfect, and the plan to take Tol out once it recovered would leave Anslo mangled for life, or even kill him. Anslo tried to escape, was caught and they nearly extracted Tol by force, not even trying to keep it from being a lethal decision. Anslo claims Tol agreed it was necessary and Anslo escaped with Tol's blessing. Curiously when they ran free, and Tol lived life once more, the joining finalized and the dissonance went away.
Anslo fled for his life, two agents sent to pursue him were killed. He began providing service under a false name "Xon Dose" in various merchant ships and working his way out of the Federation. There was a Starflleet operation on a Klingon defense force ship where oficer exchanges occured frequently enough he could assume a spot. So when Anslo found the Vaqbach on a mission to explore the Delta quadrant, that was his opportunity to escape. Anslo's time on the Vaq'Bach is not well known, Starfleet records show they fought the Second Sons, Kzinti, Romulans, other Klingons, before disappearing entirely. This is a shadow in our coverage, shining light on this area could be very interesting. Anslo's return in service of the Second Sons is most curious, but as he claims he wants to come in from the cold. His operational knowledge of the Second Sons may enable us to eradicate them once and for all. We also are seeking information on the fate of the Vaq'Bach, we know it is intact and operational in the Delta Quadrant but details are lacking.
Conclusion:
Anslo Jaron Tol surfaces now, embodying exhaustion akin to long-term operational stress. The veracity of his account, rich with complexity and potential misinformation, invites rigorous scrutiny. While his tactical insights on the Second Sons are critically alluring, the central question remains whether Anslo will re-enter Starfleet ranks or face accountability. Further interrogation is essential to untangle the legitimacy of his narrative and current allegiance.
