What's Next

Re-sending this in case anyone didn't get it before. If you did, I made a few edits but nothing new...

Folks, I can't tell you how grateful I am for everyone's involvement during the most recent arc as we go out with a bang. The entire crew has risen to the occasion and that means so much to me as your Captain. I hope everyone is happy and having fun. Please allow a few minutes while I say a few things...

Keeping everyone happy is the main part of my role as CO. So, I believe we'd all be happier if the next mission began before the reset, and followed our characters' adventures during the in-between. I'm doing this because I know when I'm outnumbered. Now that everyone--myself included--has plans for backposts, I see now that we'd all be happier doing it this way.

I'm also doing this because it gives us a lot more time to plan what we all want for the reset while still writing and simming our characters' progressions. More than anything, I want us to stay writing.

I hope this announcement is a relief and cause for rejoice from everyone. The name of the mission, "Learning to Fly" is still appropriate, so that won't change. Our mission will start twenty-four hours after "Ashes to Ashes," and will end once everyone is back on board the station, which will still require a great deal of repairs and construction.

The hugest reason I was against this was the potential chaos that will ensue due to the fact most of our characters will be off-station. This mission will have all of us scattered around at the same time. Since we aren't on the station, it will be hard to keep track of what everyone is doing and in what location they are in what time. I think we might be able to make it work through either tie-ins or dropping individual names for posts in favor of "part one, part two" etc. I'm sure many paths will cross during this, so we'll have to find a way to work that out. I started the "tie-in" idea because I found it very difficult to keep track of everyone's story arcs. If you guys can humor me on this, it should make things easier for everyone.

"From the Ashes" was, I think, our best "Francis Era" mission to date. I love how it worked out! So here we go. We'll finish up "Ashes to Ashes" tomorrow, and if we can churn out the "Epilogue" post that follows, we'll probably be done with the mission by the end of next week! I know all of us are eager to see what's next. While I'm glad everyone was ready to skip, I feel like y'all want this more... so let's do it!

Respectfully,

CF/Captain Francis
